People Want To Know They Have Made A Difference.
Lifting the lowest performing group of children in our schools from a 57% graduation rate to a 92% graduation rate is really making a difference. That's exactly what is happening with our Take Stock in Children students right here in Alachua County.
There is no greater contribution to society than to support a child in furthering their education and creating a better future for themselves and their family. The Alachua County Public Schools Foundation provides that opportunity by leveraging our schools' and teachers' efforts.
Take Stock in Children: Providing the promise of a college scholarship and providing a caring mentor to at-risk children from 7th through 12th grade is a potent formula for breaking the cycle of poverty. Black Stallion Literacy Project for 1st and 4th graders: Education begins with curiosity coupled with the ability to read.
Classroom Grants: An engaging learning environment allows creative teachers to introduce their students to the process of discovery. Senior Scholarships: Awarding hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships and post secondary financial support every year helps to close the gap by making continued education a reality for many.
